Flat Platten Graphics 

Testrite manufactures 2 Flat Platten frames, the Flair Frame for smaller single sided applications, and the Framegraphix for larger and double sided applications. Each of these frames has an ~3/16” deep lip to help provide a framed look to a thin rigid graphic.

Testrite also manufactures the Floating Standoff Mount which provides support and easy mounting for thin rigid graphics at larger sizes, with a recessed mount intentionally sized to be smaller than the graphic, creating a floating look.
There are a number of substrates that pair well with these graphic mounts, whether you’re wall mounting or ceiling hanging. Here are some of the most popular options that we can print, or for those that print internally, that you may consider pairing with our hardware.

Foamcore – Available in 3/16” Thick, Foamcore is paper faced and is the cheapest option. Paper face means the graphic has limited durability. Also be aware that Paper face may be incompatible with certain adhesives, including our Floating Standoff Mount, so use with caution.

Expanded PVC – Stocked at 3MM and 6MM, this material is PVC that’s been expanded with air, keeping cost down and providing a single material throughout. This material prints well and is economical.

Ultraboard – Available at 3/16” Thick, Ultraboard has a smooth Styrene face, making it an indeal and smooth print surface. These boards are rigid enough to pair with our Flat Platten Frames, and the Styrene graphics helps the prints setup beautifully. The foam core will be visible at the edge, and even though the foam core is relatively dense, it does mean for less supported frames (e.g. Floating Standoff Mounts) the corners could get damaged over time.

Aluminum Composite Material – ACM (DiBond) is a composite material with painted aluminum faces on the front and back and a solid black plastic core. This material is rigid and very durable. ACM can be directly printed to and looks great. ACM is relatively inexpensive compared to aluminum as the aluminum surface is kept very thin.

Aluminum – Thin Aluminum sheets with the appropriate surface finish can be directly printed. These sheets are significantly thicker than the aluminum faces of ACM panels. We can print directly to anodized Aluminum sheets, with our without white ink. Skipping the white ink provides your print (or some areas of the print) with the specular effects of the aluminum. Where white is printed, the print will look like it was printed on any high quality surface. Pre-painted white aluminum sheets are also available.
